Hey Everyone!
I will talk about using pseudonyms or using your real name for your author’s name.
What exactly is a pseudonym?
For those who do not know it is an imaginary name used for authors.
Some may ask, why use it other than your real name? I used a pseudonym for my books because I thought specifically that it would have been neat to be someone else for a change. Though I love my name because it is not a common one, I also thought hard about my privacy and how it would affect me in the long run.
I think mostly that it would be great to figure out what name I could come up with but then again it could have been anything, really. My author name is unique in a way because of three factors. My first name is Marina, but it’s not in the name choice it was because I love to sit at a marina as I did when I lived in California. The calming waters were so peaceful and I felt like all was right in the world as I looked out into the great blue. My last name comprises my two last names. One is from my maiden name and the other from my married name.
That’s just a little more about me to have for information.
Though even then some authors use their real names and I also think this is great to do. It isn’t every day you can use your name for something special as this. To use your own takes guts and I admire those who do.
I once also tried my hand at trying to change my name around like Earim Xin but it became more like it was impossible to annunciate it. You try to say the name ten times and I can tell you this it made my tongue tied worse than anything.
I am always seeing others use their author’s names as a unique way of showing who they are personally. This too makes me admire them more so than just my name.
Author’s express not only in their beliefs of how they express their words in manuscripts but also in their own descriptions of their names.
Something though I think people should really think about when you are going through the motions of what name you want to go by is that whatever it is; it is yours and yours alone.
Be sure to research to make sure you don’t have the same as another because it can happen if you are careless. Choosing is the name of the game. Whether it be unique is completely up to you.
Be brave and curious at the same token. Heck, you can even make a game of it to a point.
Brainstorm and place several names down on a piece of paper. Then if you have a few darts aim for it as you close your eyes. You never know. You could easily make fun to the decision it lands on.
Or if you have a few supportive people such as your family and friends; put all the names in a hat and have one of them pick out two of them and decide from there.
These are just some suggestions and not everything has to be serious in life. Enjoy your real name or pick a pseudonym; either way, you are breaking ground on who you will become.
The adventure begins when you are who you want to become.
That’s all for now and I hope this helped you to find your true self either in using your real name or a pseudonym.
I hope this has helped you today on your path for writing your truths and if for any reason you have more questions, please feel free to ask me at my author’s inbox @ https://www.facebook.com/authormarinaobrix/
